Woolston Eyes - Covid-19 Update 08/01/2021

The Reserve remains open during the latest national lockdown but we remind you that the current winter opening hours are 08:00 - 16:00hrs and permit holders and all visitors adhere to all government guidance and advisory cautions on travel, social distancing and household mixing at all times.

In addition we will be limiting the capacity of all five hides, so there will only be seating for ten people at any one time, In the light of this we won’t be able to accept group visits for the moment. Wardens will also be asked to give seating priority to visitors. All hide doors and windows MUST be kept open when hides are occupied and hands should be sanitised after handling locks, gates etc. so please bring hand sanitiser with you, though we will also provide a sanitising station below the Morgan Hide. While we aren’t requiring face masks to be worn in hides, we would appreciate people using them.

The paths inside the bed have been cut wider to allow adequate passage space to eliminate the need for the previous one-way system. PLEASE NOTE: There is only one footpath on No3 bed which runs in a circle inside the perimeter bund with signposted access paths leading off to the various hides. All other tracks you may see are access tracks for maintenance work or warden survey workers which will be signposted, ‘No Entry’ or taped off. Please do not enter these tracks. At times you may see unmarked tracks to ringing nets when bird ringing is in process, PLEASE DO NOT approach these nets as your presence will agitate any birds caught and may lead to injury to the birds. All bird ringers are licensed by the British Trust for Ornithology .
